Treatment Approaches

Virtual Individual Mental Health Counseling

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a goal-oriented, evidenced-based psychological treatment for a variety of mental health concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, and more. There are several forms of CBT including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). All forms of CBT help individuals identify unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns and learn more effective ways of coping. CBT also teaches individuals how to mindfully address their emotions.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT is another form of CBT; however, CPT is used specifically to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). CPT is typically offered in 12 sessions. CPT helps individuals identify and resolve negative beliefs about themselves, others, or the world after a traumatic event.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy is an evidence-based approach to help individuals process the stories of their lives and continue to write their own story. Narrative therapy helps individuals regain control of their life story and develop self-compassion.

Progressive Counting (PC)

PC is an evidenced-based psychological treatment to address trauma. PC is used to help desensitize individuals to the distressing memories associated with past trauma(s).  PC involves visualizing traumatic memories for longer periods of time as the therapist counts (1 to 10, 20, 30, etc). Research suggests that PC is as efficient and effective as EMDR.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is an evidence-based psychological treatment used to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR helps individuals process traumatic memories while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation through eye movements. EMDR also helps individuals process thoughts, beliefs, and emotions resulting from trauma.

Virtual Career Coaching

Solution-Focused Career Coaching

Solution-focused career coaching is short-term (1-8 sessions), collaborative, and goal oriented. Solution-focused career coaching emphasizes finding solutions to career issues rather than focusing on the problem. Solution-focused career coaching helps people develop action-steps towards their desired career goals.
